A Simply Perfect Phuket Wedding with Stunning Green Accents

In terms of dresses, I looked at few but didn’t see anything I liked. I then found a picture of Jessica Simpson in her Vera Wang wedding dress and loved it. When I spoke to dress shops they said there was no way I could have a full lace dress in A Line as it would cost to much. After loads of searching I managed to find the 2013 range by Justin Alexander. I ordered the dress through Acapella Bridal in Wollongong, Australia. I loved the dress when it arrived but it didn’t have straps so Connie Di Genni (Acapella Bridal) ordered me more lace from Justin Alexander and made me a key hole bolero to go with it. It was exactly what I wanted and she did such a great job in such a short time.

As my sister was based in Australia and I was in the UK when we were trying to organise the wedding it was quite difficult to find a bridesmaid dress for her that would fit and be delivered in time (we booked and organised the wedding in just over 2 months). I told my sister that I wanted green and she bought the dress from a prom dress shop in Sydney. We were luckily to order extra material to have the pageboys cummerband and cravat and the Ushers, father of bride and bestman’s ties made from the same colour. We had the material shipped to England and then sent it to Harlequin in Essex to have them made.

The reception was held at the Dusit Thani in Laguna Phuket. I was concerned about the reception venue because we had stayed at the hotel the year before and we didn’t love the hotel rooms but the reception room was the perfect size and right on the beach. Mon organised the evening event for us and she did such a great job. It is really difficult organising everything in a short time and from a different country but she met all our needs and the room was laid out exactly how we wanted. She also worked with the chef to amend the menu for us.
She organised a projector for us for the speeches and the lanterns to let go in the evening after sun set.
The whole thing ran really smoothly and everyone commented on how good the food was which was a concern being in a foreign country.

We also had a guy from Essex for our DJ (DJ Jay LeShark). I was so concerned that being a small wedding party, that no one would dance but everyone was up dancing all night. No one sat down and he put all types of music on for us. Everything from Irish songs so that we could have a irish dance to “your sexy and you know it” to songs from the sixties!
