1. Vanessa Traina, although not famous herself is the daughter of famous author Danielle Steel. Vanessa’s Givenchy designed gown was simply stunning and had to be included!

2. Portia De Rossi opted for a full skirted, backless halterneck by Zac Posen when she married Ellen.

3. The Carolina Herrara designed dress worn by Bella in Twilight is studded with buttons from the neckline to the hemline at the back. The sheer panel with delicate scrolled embroidery was described by Carolina as a “romantic” surprise which I love!

4. Nicole Ritchie‘s dramatic wedding dress was designed by Marchesa. The intricately beaded lace creation featured this beautiful cut-out back.

5. Although it’s so hard to say for definite, I think this may be my favourite back of all time! Although it’s from the 2011 collection, it’s so pretty and sexy at the same time I couldn’t leave this out when talking about backs. Inbal Dror is an Israeli designer and has caused quite a stir in the wedding world in the last couple of years with these beautifully feminine creations!

7. Along with the back detail there is a Grecian feel to this gorgeous Ines di Santo gown.

8. And obviously Jenny Packham would have something fabulous we could include, absolutely love how the back of this dress is a feature but the cut continues to flatter and accentuate right to the floor – killer dress!
